If you need to write a Request for Proposal (RFP) but don’t know where to begin, you can fill out the simple questionnaire linked below, and submit it along with your requisition.  Ultimately, Procurement will add the information you provide to UT’s RFP template.

Once your requisition arrives in Procurement’s workflow, Procurement leadership will assign the requisition to a Buyer.  The Buyer will be in touch with you and the Buyer will “walk” you through every step of the RFP process.

The most frequently asked question about the RFP process is timing.  Generally, Procurement Services requests that departments submit their requisition at least 4 weeks in advance of the department’s preferred RFP publication date.  For requisitions that departments submit between May 1 and July 31, Procurement Services requests that departments submit their requisition at least 6-8 weeks in advance of the department’s preferred RFP publication date.
